Standing at a massive 1149 ft (350 meters) the stratosphere tower can be seen from all over Las Vegas and the surrounding area, helicopters do not fly over they fly around it. At the top is the highest viewing platform in the United States and the views at day and night are incredible. The hotel itself has nearly 2500 rooms and loads to keep you entertained although it does not have the variety of facilities that the other resorts further down the strip have. Stratospheres location is not perfect being right at the top of the strip it is a good 30 minutes walk to the action although buses run regularly to the main areas and being here means that Freemont street can be easily reached. Restaurants The Top of the world restaurant is like no other in Las Vegas. This restaurant offers incredible views as you revolve 360 degrees more than 800 ft above the stratospheres casino, the food is good but it is the views that will provide the lasting memories here. Stratosphere also has a good buffet which is excellent value for money a they do packages for a ticket to the top of the tower, their buffet and a show which works out great value and means you can easily spend an evening here with lots to do. Roxy’s Diner is a 50’s themed American burger bar and is sure to be a hit with the kids. |
Entertainment What brings people to the stratosphere is the tower itself, the views from the top are incredible and well worth seeing at day and night. On top of the tower you will find a bar and shop and some rather daunting rides, including X – Cream and Insanity which both dangle you in different ways more than 800 ft high over Las Vegas. American Superstars is a great show paying tribute to the musical legends this country has produced, of course Elvis will always perform and a host of other artists join him each night in this all singing all dancing lounge show. |
Casino Not the best in Las Vegas by a long way but it does provide an array of gaming options and lower limit tables can be found. It makes for a great place to spend some time waiting if the 1149 ft tower is not your thing. Overall the stratosphere is a good hotel but not in the best location, it is well placed for exploring Freemont street and downtown but is still a bus ride away from this and the lower part of the strip. The hotel is however very good value and the rooms clean and cheap. If you choose not to stay there then it is well worth a visit even if just to enjoy the views from the top which are simply stunning. Below are some useful links to help you plan your trip. |
