The summers here are hot with an intense dry heat, however due to very little humidity the heat is bearable unlike other summer destinations; the winters are considerably cooler and can be windy although still with very little precipitation. Whatever time of year you visit if it is to hot or indeed on rare occasions to cold then an air-conditioned climate controlled building is never far away in the form of a casino, hotel or shopping mall.

It is advisable that when travelling to Las Vegas and the surrounding areas that you consider what to pack. Because of the heat of summer it is advisable to pack summer wear, many of the resorts have pool areas so this to should be considered. In winter temperatures can drop and evenings can be cold, so warmer clothes should be taken. At any time of year you will be spending a large amount of you time indoors and because of the climate control the temperatures are consistent year round, therefore you can be in searing heat one minute and cool the next so layers are advised, this of course works the reverse in winter. Below is a climate chart showing a comparison in average temperature and rainfall between Las Vegas and London.

As you can see the summer months are hot but the temperatures do drop sharply in the autumn and rise quickly in the spring.

Las Vegas is however a year round destination and with proper preparation and planning can be enjoyed year round, it also makes for a great Christmas destination when all the resorts add a festive feel.
